Dev Pilot - Privacy Policy

Dev Pilot ("the extension") helps you draft replies to Microsoft Teams web messages using an AI backend. This policy explains what data the extension handles.

What the extension accesses

• Message content you act on. When you click "Draft reply" on a message, or when auto-detect triggers on a message that @mentions you, the extension reads that message's text, a small number of preceding messages (the configurable "context", 0-6), and the sender's display name.
• Optional voice input. If you use the microphone button to refine a draft or to say "send", your speech is transcribed by the browser's built-in Speech Recognition API. The extension only receives the resulting text; it does not record or upload audio.
• Your settings. Your display name, tone, context depth, backend URL, and on/off toggles are stored locally via chrome.storage.sync.

How the data is used

The message text and context are sent to the backend URL you configure solely to generate a suggested reply. That backend forwards the text to the configured AI model provider to produce the draft. Drafts are shown to you for review - nothing is sent in Teams without your explicit click.

What the extension does NOT do

• It does not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or browsing history.
• It does not sell or transfer your data to third parties.
• It does not store your Teams messages; message text is processed transiently to produce a draft and is not retained by the backend.

Data retention

The extension keeps only your settings (in your browser profile). It does not retain message content after a draft is produced. Any retention by your configured backend or AI provider is governed by their own policies.

Your control

You can disable the assistant or clear your settings at any time from the extension popup, or by removing the extension.
